Background of Hostilities
The Army of Club Penguin, formed September 29 2006 by Oagalthorp, are no strangers to war. Involving themselves in many wars across their generations, they have not shied away from a battle when the time is right. Their most recent war came against the Aliens and Scarlet Republic, coming out victorious following a surrender by their opponents. Meanwhile, the Templars, created by Xing in April 2018, have been a mainstay in warfare. With every generation, comes a war, with the latest being the War of Tundropa Heresy against the Water Vikings. Despite their surrender, the Knights have not backed down and have continued to campaign for more warfare activity within the community.
The hostilities between both armies date back as far as December 2019, during which ACP declares war on the Templars. This was the first of many between both armies, as the Clovers would later declare four more wars. On the Knights side, many war declarations have been posted, showing no surprise with the current hostilities. In their most recent outing, the Winter Antioch Campaign, the Clovers would be victorious following a TCP surrender. Despite no wars since then, hostilities have never been at a peaceful level.

ACP Declares War
In an unexpected development amongst the community, the Clovers initiated the ‘Spring Offensive’. A declaration was posted on the Army of Club Penguin website on April 28, citing their reasons for this war. In the post, leader Daniel20448 stated that they were left amused by the Templars plans to declare on them. Stating that they had plans to declare on the Templars, they claim the Knights declared on Water Vikings to avoid this possibility. Furthermore, ACP stated that this would not be a regular war, but rather, a CPJourney Raid Campaign.
Declaring a raid war on their primary CPPS, the Clovers plan is to remove the Templars presence from Club Penguin Journey completely. Re-introducing their patrol groups, the idea is for troops to survey the island for Templars members and disrupt their events and recruiting sessions. A common occurrence on the original Club Penguin, ACP have brought it back for troops to earn clovers.

First Battles and Recent Updates
As ACP declares war, both armies have had their fair share of battles across Club Penguin Journey. Following on from the declaration, ACP officially began their raids the following day. Entering as hats, they battled the wig wearing Templars for over an hour in an attempt to declare victory. Raids did not stop there as another three events were reportedly raided, with the clovers now declaring a 4-0-0 war score in their favour. Meanwhile, Templars also claim victory in each battle, leaving the score open for discussion
What followed this was a post from Templars Empress Sidie9, where she spoke about the hypocrisy of the green army. Claims of lying and spreading narratives in an attempt to diminish their army, the Knights Empress hit back through their own words and ideas. With a patrol group set up by ACP, Sidie9 has instated a peacekeeping force within Templars in an attempt to protect the CPJ troops. Moreover, she has suggested ACP go back to the actual OG days of fighting through in-game leading and snowball fights. Whether this happens remains uncertain, but these recent updates have sparked a wave of excitement across the community. As the first-ever Club Penguin Journey war, the push to return to an old-style approach may be exactly what the game needs.

Final Thoughts
With a long history of war and hostilities between both armies, it will be interesting to see how this develops. Given that this is the first official war on Club Penguin Journey, it will be one to watch over time. Regular players are getting upset and armies are already pushing to the games limits. How long this can last is a question in itself. Will the war continue as it is or will we move back to old style warfare? Will ACP continue to raid or will a ceasefire come into consideration soon? Only time will tell but for now, this new warfare style has the community talking and war is upon us again.
