As we step into the 2026 summer, the Legends Cup comes out of the depths as a historic pillar of competition in our community.
Since 2010, the Legends Cup has stood as one of the biggest staples of our community, bringing armies together to compete, grow, and enjoy the spirit of competition. Last year, the Rebel Penguin Federation dominated the tournament, defeating the Aliens in the Grand Finals and becoming the new title-holders of the LC.
This year, with the establishment of the Club Penguin Army League, we are proud to announce that we are officially hosting the Legends Cup XVI.
Hosting a tournament of this magnitude comes with a significant responsibility. CPAL is committed to delivering a professionally organized and fairly managed competition for all participating armies. Legends Cup XVI will be built upon a straightforward and competitive tournament structure, free from experimental additions such as wheel-spin seedings or double-elimination formats. Our previously hosted tournament, the Army World Cup, saw well-established hosting with great feedback from all armies that participated, further assessing our seriousness in upholding a properly organized competition.
Hosting Concerns
Club Penguin Army League understands the concerns surrounding the possibility of two separate Legends Cups being hosted. Our organisation remains confident in its foundation and in its mission, which is simply to provide armies with an alternative option should they find the current status quo unsatisfactory.
It is unfortunate to see significant opposition from sources whose interests do not appear to be focused on benefiting the community and its future, but rather on outdated standards and supporting organisations that seek to maintain control over all aspects and fronts within our community, no questions asked.
We have no intentions of pursuing “politicization” or “relevancy.” Any registered army has the ability to bring forward a vote today advocating for a single Legends Cup and we would be more than happy to indulge. Since our re-establishment, our goal has remained unchanged: armies come first. No outside entity will divert us from that commitment.
More information regarding each battle and adversary, and the rules, will be released on Saturday, June 13th.

It is important to note that only registered armies within the CP Army League will be invited to this tournament. With that being said, Club Penguin Army League extends an invitation to the following armies to participate in the Legends Cup XVI.
