Just hours ago, the Templars officially declared war on the Water Vikings, initiating yet another conflict between the two. Both armies have had quite a history of warfare, initiated by years of animosity between the two. In this post, we will see what led to this declaration and what we can expect from this war.
Brief Look Into Both Armies
The Templars, founded on April 4th, 2018, by Xing, have remained a staple force in the major scene for several years. Their history is defined by significant achievements in both war and competition, most notably their victory at the Legends Cup in 2022. The Templars shone brightest during World War VII, a monumental clash involving giants such as the Rebel Penguin Federation and Elite Guardians. This conflict emphasized leadership, strategy, and intelligence—qualities the Templars demonstrated at the highest level—allowing them to secure a hard-fought and bittersweet conclusion.
However, their journey was not without struggle. Following their initial rise after 2018, the Templars faced a major setback with a mass exodus in early 2019, followed by a failed attempt in late 2020 by Cobra. Despite these challenges, the army resurged powerfully in 2021 and 2022, leaving a lasting impact on the community. Warfare became a defining characteristic of the Templars, as their ability to consistently conquer rival armies set them apart. Although relatively newer compared to some legacy forces, their rapid success showcased a level of passion and determination that cemented their place among the elite.
The Water Vikings, established on December 28th, 2010, by Jed Pen and Zakster, emerged during a pivotal era in the community’s history. Their path to prominence was long and challenging, shaped by multiple generations over the years. Their true rise, however, began in 2020 following a rebrand from the Golden Guardians, marking their transition into the Club Penguin Private Server era.
During this period, the Vikings became key participants in major conflicts, including World War IX in 2023 against the Army of Club Penguin. That same year, they achieved a historic milestone by winning their first major trophy, Christmas Chaos XIII. Over time, the Water Vikings have produced numerous influential figures, including Bepboy9, Aaronstone, Revan, and, more recently, Dino.
Their growing influence in both foreign politics and warfare has established the Water Vikings as a formidable force. In particular, their repeated clashes with the Templars throughout the 2020s have become a defining feature of modern warfare, solidifying one of the most notable rivalries in the current era.
Templars Declare War on Water Vikings
Around 3:32 pm EST on April 13th, Templar leader Borapenguins announced the declaration of war in CPA, followed by a scheduled invasion on Parka a minute later. The timing of this declaration seems very planned ahead, as the Club Penguin Armies organisation would announce the return of 1v1 terms at 3:31 pm EST. The Templars have previously expressed frustration with the removal of these terms, calling for their return for more competitive conflicts.
The Water Vikings would react to this declaration very abruptly in the CPA community chat, expressing no worry towards the declaration. The Vikings responded back with an invasion on Husky an hour later. With no external involvement inbound, things could spice up between the two and their long-standing rivalry
