Welcome to another edition of A Look Ahead, a brand new column showing the forecast of armies based on their current status. In this week, we will examine the Void Troops, a relatively new army but well known for their fighting spirit and attitude to war. We have to wonder, will we see present day VT reach their prime or become a staple within the community? Let’s take a look ahead.

History
Void Troops was founded on April 27th, 2025, by Logical and Justin (Kyle104), following the formers departure from the Doritos of Club Penguin. Initially wanting to revive the Penguins of Madagascar, he teamed up alongside Kyle104, or as many known them, Justin, to create the Void Troops. Their creation led to many members of DCP following in their footsteps and helped build the army into where it is. Despite a defacement from creator Justin, the army bounced back and continued to prevail, winning numerous wars against the Special Weapons and Tactics, DCP, Templars of Club Penguin, Shadow Legionnaires and the Bastille Vanguard.

With a consistent schedule of wars and trainings, the army saw themselves achieve high placements across the Top Ten’s each week, maxing an all-time high of 41 penguins online at one of their events. The army saw through many challenges to reach where they are today, including their disqualification from the Around The World Cup II tournament due to Alucard and Venom, two higher command members of the army, ban evading on CPA Battleground. Nonetheless, the army continued through these adversaries and are still alive within the community.
Present Day
Today, the Void Troops see similar dilemmas to those they have faced since their creation. The growing competition in the major side of the community has meant that VT — an army whose rise was praised for how quickly it occurred — have fallen once again fallen back to the small/medium community. Despite the strong maxes we see displayed in their wars, they fall short when it comes to continuing these across to regular events. Meanwhile, in most tournaments, anticipation towards anything more than an early round placement for the army doesn’t exist due to their size.
The army has experienced multiple changes across the past few months, seeing leaders such as Zekrome, and Antman retiring, with Dbsa, Judy and xDemon taking over, and changes within the ranks across the entire army. Most notably, we saw recently that xDemon was removed from his position due to internal disagreements. Nonetheless, the army has continued to move past these issues and slowly build back up.
With Void Troops constantly itching for war, leadership has always found ways to keep members engaged. A former brother-ally turned enemy—the Templars—has provided a consistent focal point for conflict and rivalry. However, the wider lack of active warfare across the community has contributed to a noticeable decline in VT’s presence on the map. Much like many armies experience in the first few months of the school year, Void Troops have seen a drop in server activity: fewer new recruits, smaller turnouts at events, and, as a result, shorter operations. This downturn has pushed leadership to experiment with new ideas and alternative event formats in an effort to revitalise the army. Recent Top Ten placements reflect this gradual decline over time, and with an increasingly busy period ahead for many members, reduced engagement has become evident within the server itself.

A Look Ahead
After declining the opportunity to participate in the most recent Christmas Chaos tournament, it has become difficult to predict how the army may evolve in the coming months. While one might argue that the only possible direction is upward—particularly given the motivation the group has demonstrated in the past—this isn’t always possible. A point of concern lies in leadership experience. Many current leaders have not previously overseen an army with long-term sustainability, with the Secret Service standing as the longest-lasting example at approximately six months. With this, naturally questions surrounding longevity, stability, and future direction begin to come into the discussion of Void Troops.
A January drought could potentially affect the army and lead to a further decline than what is seen currently — hype dying down and exam season upcoming — resulting in sizes going down further across the next month or two. Although this may seem demotivating to some, it could give the leaders the motivation to bounce back and grow the army once again. With war terms being redefined and a new world map opening, the Void Troops could use it to turn the tide and push on
While the drought is a topic of concern, there are things to look forward to across their community. An imminent move to Club Penguin Journey could see the army follow in the steps of those who have taken advantage of the opportunities that the CPPS presents. Such a transition could lead to the army raising their activity — dedicated CPJourney website guides, mascot trackers within the server and in-game opportunities — allowing the army to bring the game’s roots back into their structure. The move could allow Void Troops to think strategically and not just use the game as it literally is but as a tool for growth.

We also notice that the Void Troops decided to drop out of the CPA org map entirely, potentially putting more focus on the CPA World Map, which they already have placed their capital in. It is unclear, however, if they would be pushing for more map activities in their current status. We could see their next steps on the map around January to February to push for more overall army activity during the drought, with the already growing presence of many S/M armies in the CPA World Map.

Overall Forecast
Medium, potential to become Positive
Semi-Unstable
While the negatives currently outweigh the positives for the army, there are always opportunities for the army to grow again and push to new heights. Looking back at the previous armies the leaders have been in, they have been a part of successful revivals — most notably the Secret Service. Like every army, periods of decline are not uncommon and are often followed by a burst of growth. However, whether the Void Troops can replicate this is unknown, though similar examples suggest that not all is bad and there is a possibility to rise up again.
What do you think? Do you predict Void Troops to become a powerhouse S/M army again? How do you see the Void Troops around three months from now?
