Coolguy’s Sudden Retirement From Dark Warriors

Recently, notable and widely respected army leader Coolguy from the Dark Warriors resigned from his role in a sudden turn of events. In this post, we will examine the reasons behind his departure and what his next plans are.

Background & Legacy

Coolguy joined Club Penguin Armies in 2011, with the United Countries of Club Penguin being his first army. He spent most of his early days climbing his way to the top with the guidance of many legends, such as Ganger and 32op. With it being such a pivotal time in armies, his growth in leadership skills under the UCCP proved his great dedication. The following years would see him join various other armies, such as the Special Weapons and Tactics, Doritos of Club Penguin, and Chaos.

His recent involvement in armies would be affiliated with the Army of Club Penguin in 2023 and 2024. Coolguy was co-leading with Calgocubs21 and Austinfraud during prime ACP years in 2023, being able to conquer armies such as the Elite Guardians, and win the prestigious Legends Cup the same year. After the retirement of his co-leaders, he would go on to win the New Year Bonanza tournament in early 2024, defeating armies such as the Rebel Penguin Federation and Water Vikings. Not long after, he would go on to retire in late February, shortly after promoting Ugly as a Commander-in-Chief earlier in the month.

Coolguy pursued his work in leagues the same year, being promoted to an Executive Producer in the Club Penguin Armies organisation. His brilliance and notable decision-making carved a path for armies to walk and flourish on. CPA org hosted many unique tournaments during his time, most notably the Project Conquest: Blood Bowl tournament. Despite the controversial nature of the tournament’s legacy, it still stands as a great show of competitiveness between major giants at the time.

What made Coolguy’s retirement very distinctive is his affiliation with the Dark Warriors and their revival that summer by the end of his administration. On June 15th, Coolguy announced his retirement from CPA org, insinuating his full dedication and focus to DW. The army would see a major rise after the revival in July under the leadership of Coolguy, Subzero, and Holo2.

Dark Warriors would go on to win the Summer Blitz tournament in September, as well as celebrate 18 years of history on October 21st, 2025. Their rise would reach a high point, as in March of 2026, the Dark Warriors would achieve major status. Their presence in warfare was also apparent, being heavily involved in the major clash between Void Troops and Templars in the Divine Reckoning II war.

Coolguy’s presence in the Dark Warriors as a big hand in ensuring a successful path forward was clear. He was inducted as an S/M Legend in the 2025 Legend Induction, carving his legacy in gold as a legendary army leader in the community.

Sudden Retirement From Dark Warriors

Unfortunately, on April 20th, 2026, Coolguy abruptly no longer had his commander roles, which left many confused. What made the situation more bizarre is that other key staff members like Pranav and Jaz left suddenly as well, near the same time frame. Many suggested internal issues, though there does not seem to be any official, clear reason why.

Dark Warriors held an event to honor the lasting impact of Coolguy in the army, signifying his great contributions and work to DW. They were able to reach a size of 34 troops and close friends in size, waving goodbye to an iconic leader of the army.

Coolguy Farewell Event

Club Penguin Army League reached out to Coolguy on his retirement and plans for the future.

What led to your decision to retire so suddenly?

Question respectfully denied to be answered by Coolguy.

What is your favorite memory from your time in Dark Warriors?

Coolguy: My favourite memory is going to take a holiday from work and everything else for once and yet just as the week approaches for me to, an event was held celebrating my SM Legend achievement, with Thalia putting in a lot of work to make it a special event. I think it was DW’s highest maxing event of this gen. It was a sweet moment to have as I was about to cast everything a side for a week to unwind both in IRL and CPA almost like a farewell with the turnout haha.

Do you have any advice for those who strive to be great leaders one day?

Coolguy: Trust your gut, not your heart.

Do you have any plans after Dark Warriors that are in your scope?

Coolguy: The TOPIC is always around. I guess we’ll just see what the TOPIC does next. Whatever chapter is moulded into the ground, you better enjoy the ride.

Any further message to the community?

Coolguy: My grandma and your grand-ma were sit-tin’ by the fire
My grandma told your grand-ma “I’m gon-na set your flag on fire
Talk-in’ ’bout, hey now hey now I-ko, I-ko, un-day
Jock-a-mo fee-no ai na-né, jock-a-mo fee na-né.

This now marks the end of a chapter between Coolguy’s vast years of history in CPA. Despite his abrupt end in the Dark Warriors, his legacy and impact will remain a key trait to his tenure in such a legendary army. Which army do you think Coolguy will join next? Do you think this will impact Dark Warriors immensely or not?
