Teutons Shutdown Following Period of Inactivity

History
The Teutons were founded in August 2014 by Brigade3 and Earthing, quickly growing into a competitive S/M army. The army took part in multiple wars and alliances and became a common name in CPA Central’s Top Ten, peaking at 2nd place.

In later generations, leaders like Greeny and Banterous Sam were involved in revivals that took place. However, the army faced several issues, including internal conflicts, defacements, and multilogging allegations. Brigade3 later admitted to multilogging, which led to penalties and a decline in the army. Teutons made a brief return in March 2017 but soon shut down, ending their original run. After nearly nine years, Justin led the revival of the latest generation in 2026, bringing the army back under new leadership.

5th Generation
On 18 January 2026, Teutons officially revived dunder Justin. They managed to make a quick impression in the community, as they declared war on the Special Weapons and Tactics the day after. They also allied with Void Troops and marked Dark Warriors and Templars as enemies. Early on, the Teutons faced the Romans and lost the war amid serious allegations and controversy.

Soon after, multiple armies, including Phantom Republic, Fire Vikings, Tsunamis, Cryo Vanguards, Phoenix of Club Penguin, and Templars, launched Operation: Dead Cross, raiding Teutons and scheduling several invasions. PRCP claimed victory and later defeated Teutons in The Specter’s Retribution war with a 5-0-1 score. This set of wars was noticed on a global scale in CPA, creating rivalries lasting weeks between these armies.
Following rising drama, Justin announced Teutons would avoid further conflict and focus on stability and events. However, activity declined over time. Justin stepped down on 5 April 2026, with Turtel and Alucard taking leadership. With no improvement in activity or staff performance, Teutons officially announced the end of their 5th generation on 24 April 2026.

Despite the sudden shutdown, the Teutons proved to be a key element to the political landscape throughout this year. Individuals within the army, such as Turtel and Bschar, would be awarded medals for their contributions and dedication to this generation of Teutons.

Club Penguin Army League reached out to Teutons’ Legend Mashu to gather some insights following the shutdown of Teutons.
What are your thoughts on the 2026 revival under Justin?
Mashu: To be honest, it wasn’t easy to gain perms with either Earthing or Brigade3. Both were retired from the community. Earthing currently enjoy his time in the United States nowadays. Brigade3 left CPA in 2017, years ago. We were given the green light by both through their contacts. Justin with the green light in 2022 from Earthing was a bonus. I don’t think it was overnight but longtime coming.
Personally, without the shadow of a doubt—it’s simply incredible. Justin already having history with Teutons prior definitely was a bonus and icing on cake. Unlike generations before, he gave true colors on what true showcase should be in the CPPS army erac. Someone who’s credible enough to lead and revive an army despite controversies. I don’t think I remember Teutons swerving into controversy and that’s our middle ground. However, we shouldn’t judge people on skills but character. I believe in second chances and both were given opportunities.
How do you view the wars and conflicts Teutons faced in this generation?
Mashu: We’ve learned lots from a mile. I don’t think I’ll ever hold it against the community. That’s because wars have justification and nothing wrong with that, brother. Not even withstanding as a legend, I couldn’t care less about my rank involved from a perspective as it is just a title without merit. For the community, we go through ups and downs and there are things don’t go our favor. Things happen, we got life outside CPA y’know!
From your perspective, what led to the downfall of Teutons over time?
Mashu: That’s tough, it wasn’t really overnight though… We really did everything we could, really, but it wasn’t easy. I may probably give two reasons why.
• Inactive staff and insubordination by some staff members stutted Teutons’ growth although solid HCOM.
• The 5v1 war. As much as I hate to admit, that one took a hard hit on us. Meh. They tried rubbing it in my face as if that war affected me. I’ve been through my own wars and different wars in CPA for years. One war doesn’t even define me at this point. We learned that warfare ain’t all about drama but intention. I’m sure they had a point but it doesn’t necessarily mean of a big deal. Just another bigger swallow dealt with even though loss.
Do you think Teutons should revive again in the future and would you assist them personally?
Teutons’ journey is one that reflects both legacy and struggle. From their early success to their revival in a new era, they showed flashes of potential but were ultimately unable to sustain consistency. Despite the challenges, their name remains a part of army history, carried by those who were part of its rise and fall. With another shutdown now marking the end of their story for the time being, the question remains: will Teutons ever return stronger, or is this truly the final chapter for the army?
