Army World Cup: Qualifier & Group Stage Information

The Club Penguin Army League and Small Medium Army League are excited to announce Qualifier & Group Stage battle information. Beginning next weekend, the first tournament of 2026 will commence, bringing exciting battles for everyone to enjoy over the next 3 weeks.

INFORMATION

The Army World Cup will feature two groups consisting of 4 small/medium armies in each. A total of 9 armies have chosen to enter the tournament. Prior to the beginning of the Group Stage battles, a qualifier round will be held to finalize the groups before moving onto the next stage. The qualifier round will be held on Saturday January 24 where we will see the Tsunamis up against Shreks to determine the fourth army in Group B.

Following the qualifier round and the finalization of the groups, the Group Stage will begin on Tuesday January 27 and will conclude on Sunday February 1. Armies will battle every 2 days and will battle a total of 3 times. The top 2 armies in each group will then move onto the Death Group.

RULES

Important Note

After further reevaluation, the administrations of both the Club Penguin Army League and Small Medium Army League agreed on upholding a new dual enlistment rule:

Dual enlistment is not allowed, individuals may only attend for one army. Participants must stick with their chosen army for the duration of the tournament. In the case of attending visitors from armies that are not participating or not part of SMAL or CPAL, holding a rank in any active army found on the participating list will be considered failing to adhere to this rule. Members of non participating armies must enlist prior to the start of the tournament.

Official Rules List

Reviews will only be allowed for the final battles of the Death Group and will be conducted by unaffiliated (to the battle) Head Judges.
Deadlines for the review process are as follows: Leaders cannot request a review after three hours from the battle summary being posted and they cannot submit evidence more than 21 hours after requesting a review (videos should be submitted as soon as possible). Head Judges must inform both armies about the review and if it is going ahead as soon as possible. The deadline for the Head Judges to review the battle will be 24 hours after the evidence deadline.

The judging will be undertaken by Club Penguin Army Judges in conjunction with the Head Judges.
All armies have a right to veto two judges per battle. Once an army has vetoed two judges, it cannot decline any more for that battle. Vetoes cannot occur past the four hour mark and the Head Judges can not be vetoed per new judging guidelines.
Each army will have two vetoes per battle. However, in the final battle of the Death Group, the participating armies will be allowed to have three vetoes, only if there are enough judges to ensure the places are filled. If there aren’t, the current veto rules will remain.
Anybody banned from Battleground cannot participate in tournament battles (including but not limited to attending on alts, leading from Discord or other third-party websites, etc.) If found guilty of violating this rule by administrator discretion, the army they are involved with will be disqualified.
