Colosseums to Currents: Water Viking’s Declare War On The Romans

Following the conclusion of Christmas Chaos XV and a quiet start to the new year, the Water Vikings have, in a shock twist of events, declared war on the Roman Empire. Accusations of troop-stealing and growing toxicity directed toward the Vikings have culminated in this declaration, marking the beginning of what is expected to be the first of many conflicts this year. With tensions rising and, battles being scheduled, there’s a lot to explore.

Empire Meets The Tide

Following on from the previous war between both sides, the Water Vikings have now declared the Second War of Roman Subjuction against the Roman Empire. In a post released on January 11 by Viking Commander Lydia, she stated that since the Roman revival in the summer of 2025, Water Vikings have been faced with numerous troopstealing attempts and general toxicity against the army. Lydia continued by citing attempts of manipulation of members of the army in an effort to have them switch sides. The declaration, posted by co-commander Escot, was followed immediately by an invasion of ‘Znation’s Intelligence’, occurring today, Tuesday January 13, at 8pm EST

Shields or Sails?

The Vikings, a stable in the major army community, have had a good year across 2025. From celebrating their fifteenth anniversary to winning wars and the Candy Crusher small/medium division trophy – there was a lot to be pleased with. Although many leaders have come and gone, they have remained a staple in the community, progressing to the semi-finals of the most recent Christmas Chaos tournament. With consistent top 5 placements in the weekly Top Ten Armies, alongside several first place finishes across the summer, the army have continued to be a force that will hand quite a challenge to their opponents.

Meanwhile, the Romans, revived back in June 2025, have been steadily active across the small/medium community. Although the leadership doesn’t have as much experience as their predecessors, they have pushed through the many transitions and troubles they have faced. Led by Znation and Csani, they recently made it to the finals of the Christmas Chaos small/medium division finals alongside the Templars and Dark Warriorsfinishing 3rd. While consistent in their performances and events, the army have struggled to move far up on the Top Ten, placing at 9th and 12th in the two released this month.

Despite the first official battle taking place later today, the armies haven’t been quiet on the battlefield. On the day of declaring, the Vikings wasted no time with preparations, raiding their enemies’ event and seemingly giving them a warning of what was to come with the official battles.

Club Penguin Army League reached out to both Roman leader Znation and Viking commander Escot to gather a statement on their thoughts about this war.

Leadership Statements

Znation: although roman’s have messed up in the past and we have made mistakes, we have attempted to fix the relationship with water Vikings in the past. I personally feel that roman’s didn’t deserve to be declared upon for things that were meant to be taken lightly or for those not associated with us saying things for the sake of it. I think it will be good to help raise the spirits in the army and hopefully help everyone find that motivation again

Escot: I’ve felt that honestly the troop stealing incidents were annoying to see going on. They knew it was probably coming but they kept on pulling this shit.

With Water Vikings confident in their abilities to tackle this wrongdoing, and Romans hoping this brings their spirits up, one can only wait and see how this war goes. A clear path in sight for the Vikings based on their post and event raid means that their opponents will certainly be kept on their toes for the duration of this war. What do you think? Will the Vikings prove themselves right in their course of action? Could this escalate into something more serious or will someone come out victorious soon?
