On January 4th, Club Penguin Army League rang in the New Year with a massive community gathering, marking an inaugural event for the organization. Let us take a look at what happened during the event and who participated in it, as well as the leaders’ and the community’s reaction.

The New Year’s Gathering was a fun 2-part event that took place on January 4th. During the event, the Shadow Legionaries, Void Troops, Aliens, Dark Warriors, Shreks, Scarlet Republic, Special Weapons and Tactics, and Wii Phone all participated in a ten-minute free-for-all battle that took place in the Casa Fiesta. This battle saw a lot of chaos ensue, as we have gotten reports that many crashed due to the amount of tactics and troops in the server, approximately 104+ people on Battleground.

As the battle concluded, all armies migrated to the Iceberg, where all were synchronized under one army led by Ugly in the CPAL community chat. Many neat tactics and awesome formations, like the star formation, heart formation, and 20 & 26 formations, were performed by all armies simultaneously, delivering a spectacular performance and a great send-off to the year 2026.

Excellent feedback was abundant from numerous army leaders and members, particularly within the Club Penguin community. A post on the main CP Reddit highlighted this gathering, accumulating nearly 300 upvotes and featuring several positive comments in support of the event.

Club Penguin Army League reached out to several army leaders about their participation in the event and their thoughts.
Fwapo, SWAT leader: This gathering was not just a couple of armies coming together it was an actual nostalgic feeling, not gonna lie. Seeing all armies come together in one singular event is something that has not happened in a while, and seeing what CPAL was able to pull off a massive plus for the participating armies and the armies themselves. SWAT thanks the CPAL administration for what they were able to do, and we can’t wait to see what you guys are going to bring to the table soon.
Viv, Shreks leader: It was fun! Fun to see so many people on, and making the formations at the end together was cool. For Shreks, it was funny to be “battling” other armies just spamming Shrek quotes.
Ghostt, Scarlet Republic leader: I think the 2026 New Years celebration was an awesome experience overall. Seeing all the different armies who showed up, unite to celebrate together is the first step towards finding success in these new leagues we have built up. Honestly makes me think we should be doing more events like this to unite the community more often.
Csani, Romans leader: I think this event has proved that we are not just separate armies but a whole community that can get together. This could open more opportunities for similar events, which is pretty huge in my opinion. Lastly im really grateful for all of the armies that have attended, it was so much fun! I hope we will see more events like this and Romans would be happy to join again!
Lort, Wii Phone leader: Honestly, even though by looking at the list of participating armies you could see this coming, the max was still impressive. It has shown CPAL potential in 2026 quite well.
Thunder, Shadow Legionnaires leader: I really liked the event but i found the all in one battle in Casa Fiesta pretty boring for us, thats why at 06 to 10 we decided to go to Stadium and do some formations and get people back on the game, we could have gotten 12-13 on but sadly Lemon and 2 other troops logged off. For the main ceremony of every army participating in unique formations is what made it cool.
Apryl, Void Troops leader: I was extremely fun and i loved how everyone was able to come together for this event. You did a great job ugly. (I didn’t ask her to say this last part)
Ams, Aliens leader: I was expecting something very complicated to handle : battling with several other armies, and then relaying the messages from your server to our main chat, but it surprisingly went amazingly for aliens, i do hope it was the same for every participating army!
I did not expected that the formations in the celebration would go that well, especially the star we did at the beginning, since it was coordinating all chats to fix it, and when it was not looking good i remember seeing people moving to make it better.
Was a pretty nice event to attend, and changed from the battles i usually attend. i do think our staff time spent a good moment : we were the biggest size (that i know of), and our staff was really helping trying to fix the formations in room 2/3, so when we asked to move at the bottom left to fix the star, i remember the bunching being gone in like 5 seconds.
I’m not sure i would do that everyday, especially the battle part, and even if we had the waiting timer, i think it was kinda slow, but the s/m armies training i attended are very different from the major armies ones i attended, so that might be just an issue from my perspective only! I do think a lot of people enjoyed that event tho!
AustinFraud, Water Vikings: The event was fantastic, and I had the opportunity to participate for a few moments, although only by trolling other armies in my Merry Walrus outfit. There were approximately 100 users online for the occasion, and I particularly enjoyed the part where they all formed a heart to greet the new year with love. F*CK THAT, NO LOVE THIS YEAR, I JUST WANT CHAOS!!
In any case, I enjoyed the community event; these should be held more frequently. I haven’t attended a community event in quite some time.
Zall, Community Member: I personally really liked it, it was nice to see all the armies take a break from hating eachother and come together and stuff. Also the forms that happened were pretty cool and unique like the “20” and the “26” and the star, and the tactics the army made also pretty neat AND MY FAVORITE PART WAS ANTMAN BANNING ZNATION FROM CPAL.
Needless to say, the New Year’s Gathering community event ended up being a great success among armies, as many shared a lot of good feedback. Club Penguin Army League will always prioritize fun over anything else, as it is the core element of what makes our community alive and well. We hope everyone who participated had a great time, despite the chaotic nature of events like these, and we wish everyone a happy New Year for the last time, as we begin settling into 2026!
What were your thoughts on the event? Do you think CPAL could have done something to make it more creative?
