On December 14th, 2025, the community witnessed a major development as the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) revealed a brand-new leadership structure under ‘Operation Phoenix’. This marked a significant moment for the long-standing army, signaling a fresh direction and renewed ambitions. Let’s take a closer look at the details.

SWAT: A Longstanding Legacy Since 2009
The Special Weapons and Tactics army, commonly known as SWAT, was founded in 2009 by Army Legend Ganger90. Since its creation during the early days of Club Penguin armies, SWAT has endured numerous highs and lows, managing to remain active through various eras. Over the years, the army has been led by many notable figures who helped define its identity and competitive spirit. Most recently, the army was under the leadership of WilliamW2010, who maintained SWAT’s presence through challenging periods.

The army, unfortunately, did not meet the expectations the community anticipated. SWAT in recent years has been struggling to keep their momentum going, following a lot of detrimental wars against the Templars. However, this could now change with new projects planned by the current new leadership.

Operation Phoenix: The New Leadership Revealed
The new leadership was officially announced by xDemon, known for his previous roles in Phantom Republic and Void Troops. In the announcement titled ‘Operation: Phoenix’, he declared his rise to leadership alongside AB, who joins him in leading the army forward alongside Williams.

The name “Phoenix” symbolizes rebirth and resurgence—fitting for the strong direction the leaders aim to take. Their goals include the complete revitalization of the army, new additions to the staff and high command team, and a bright future that includes war and glory.
With this new duo at the helm, SWAT appears poised for a renewed era focused on growth, strength, and strategic ambition.

Club Penguin Army League reached out to both xDemon and AB for an interview on their induction.
What led you to join SWAT out of any army now? Is there any reason you picked SWAT to command?
xDemon: Before I leave cpa for some time might as well give William something to work with going into the new year, the 1 maxes were embarrassing and the army was basically dead.
AB: I joined SWAT as I can see they are an army that struggles, and I have experience of growing armies really fast. I wanted to command SWAT because I wouldn’t wanna keep opening up new armies and SWAT could use a hand
What are some plans that you have for the army? What can we expect from SWAT in the next few months?
xDemon: Get the army off the ground, make it a decent S/M.
AB: Plans for SWAT is to have them max AT LEAST more than 10 occasionally, from SWAT everyone can expect us to make it back to the top tens
With the new revitalization projects, can we expect SWAT to make any big moves in the community? Will we see any wars happening with SWAT again?
xDemon: I’m just here to set the army up for the future, but time will tell.
AB: SWAT will make really big moves in the cpa community, those will not be told as of right now, BUT the results will slowly show through standings, battles and etc. Yes we will see many wars in the future of SWAT some may be tough, but SWAT will prevail.
Any further comments for the community?
xDemon: No.
AB: OPERATION PHEONIX SWAT RETURNS TO ITS GLORYYY!!! (join up k)
Under the newly launched Operation Phoenix, SWAT steps into a fresh chapter with new leadership and bold ambitions. The new leaders have outlined a clear vision focused on reclaiming major status, rebuilding strength, and preparing the army for future challenges.
The Club Penguin Army League extends its gratitude to the SWAT leadership for taking the time to speak with us and wishes them all the very best in achieving their goals. May their new era live up to the rising spirit their operation represents.
