Following an upset at the hands of the Hog Riders of Club Penguin, Fire Vikings officially announced its shutdown on November 22. We will be looking through the army’s current generation, as well as what the reasoning behind and thoughts around the shutdown.

Following the revival of Fire Vikings into their Second Generation on February 16, 2025, the army was going strong. Holding consistent weekly events (some would argue too many, my Discord notifications would agree.) and staging practice battles with armies such as the Shadow Legionaries, the army appeared to be going strong under the leadership of Klombe, Clover and Shakira. After their recent anniversary celebrations on November 16, with a max of 13, the army appeared to be in a very stable position – although this stability would be short lived.

In a shocking turn of events, the newly formed Hog Riders of Club Penguin issued a declaration of war against the Vikings on November 20, clearly looking to prove themselves on the war stage. Prompted by this, Yellow Typer (the creator of Fire Vikings) returned to a leadership position, in an effort to support the army. The first battle was scheduled for November 22, with both armies hyping themselves up and preparing for what could possibly be the war of the century. One question was on everyone’s minds: “Would Yellow Typer successfully place down an inferno tower to counter the Hog Riders, or would Fire Vikings get three crowned?”

of our reporters was at the scene of the battle, and managed to gain an informal interview from Doopus, who remarked that the Vikings had zero tactics written before the battle, and that there was a “constant clash between klombe and yellow”. Fire Vikings ended up losing in a 3-0 upset, much to the joy of the Hog Riders, who reportedly started spamming the king laughing emote from Clash Royale. 7 hours after the battle was over, Yellow Typer announced he would be once more shutting down the army, simply citing this as a time for FV to step back and rebuild, and thanking every member who was there for this Second Generation.

Judging by what was seen in the battle, corroborated by statements from Doopus, it would appear that it was for the best that the Vikings took a step back due to the discordance present within leadership. Even still, things are truly never this simple in this community – was the war an inciting event for the shutdown, or did it play absolutely no part at all?

In order to determine the reason behind the shutdown, as well as to what extent the entirety of leadership agreed upon it, Club Penguin Army League reached out to Klombe for an interview.
In the announcement, there was no major reason provided behind the shutdown, is there a reason that you are able to disclose?
Klombe: bro idk really yellow just got mad at zuj0t and shutted down π zuj0t stole fv server and kept banning yellow
Klombe provided some screenshots demonstrating that this was indeed the case:

Have these issues within leadership been present for some time?
Klombe: not really
Would it be fair to say that the war against the Hog Riders led to the issues within leadership, or was it a different cause with the war simply exacerbating this?
Klombe: the war with hog riders didnt really matter, i wanted to just do christmas chaos
So the causes behind this completely blindsided you, would that be a correct assumption?
In response to this, Klombe provided screenshots of his conversations with Yellow Typer:

What are your plans now that FV is shut down?
Klombe: im probably opening my own army
Do you have any closing remarks?
Klombe: ex apple best emoji and i miss fv π₯²
Judging by the interview with Klombe, it would appear that there was other issues within leadership – ones not caused by or even impacted by the war. As he stated, these issues were very new and the shutdown would appear to be spurred on by Yellow Typer and Zuj0t coming to blows, possibly on the matter of who owned Fire Vikings. With this being the case, Club Penguin Army League reached out to Yellow Typer for clarification.
In your announcement, there was no major reason provided behind the shutdown, is there a reason that you are able to disclose?
Yellow Typer: Most of the leaders there became busy same as with the staff and troops. All FV need is just a break for a while before it’s able to come back up.
In a discussion with Klombe he noted how there was conflict within the leadership team – could you possibly elaborate on this and explain as to what impact it had on the shutdown?
Yellow Typer: That’s something I must not expose
Was the shutdown agreed upon by leadership, or was it solely your choice as creator?
Yellow Typer: My decision. Tbf, I warned them over and over that I would shut FV down if the problems continued
In terms of the war, how much of an effect do you believe it had on the stability of the army, and do you believe it played a major role in the shutdown?
Yellow Typer: I don’t believe it had an effect at all. FV’s been the same since November 16th, 2024, so we just need the time to prepare and things. In this case, the war played no role in the shutdown.
What will be your plans now that FV is shut down, both for your army career and for the army itself?
Yellow Typer: I’ve been a resigned leader from FV for a while now because as we all know I was leading Romans. I took a break from armies for a bit when I got removed from leadership due to the time I had available for the days but now that I got time back, I went to ACP so I plan to be there for a while. As for FV, I will give it time. It needs to take a break for a while before it can come back to the community.
Do you have any closing remarks?
Yellow Typer: Sure! I want to thank everyone who supported FV throughout its journey, the leaders, troops, allies, Veterans, and rivals who pushed us to be better. Even though this second generation is ending, the legacy we built doesnβt disappear. Iβm grateful for the memories and the people I met along the way. FV will return when the time is right, but until then, I hope everyone continues to grow, enjoy the community, and make their own impact. Thank you for everything.
Club Penguin Army League also reached out to Zuj0t to hear his side of things, but as of yet we have not received a response.
Although it would be most people’s immediate reaction to take the war as the purpose for Fire Vikings shutting down, or take Yellow Typer’s word at face value for other life commitments, it would seem there is more present. Leadership issues and conflicts that have not yet been brought to light have boiled over and resulted in a clash between Yellow Typer and Zuj0t – ultimately leading to the shutting down of the army. If these are not resolved, it may be the case that we will not see from the Vikings from some time. With Yellow Typer stating he cannot elaborate on the motive, and Zuj0t not responding, we cannot be certain what these issues truly are. Do you think Fire Vikings will return? What do you think were the issues present within leadership? Will Klombe’s next army be successful? Should leadership issues lead to the shutdown of an army?
