With the group stage brackets finally set, anticipation rises regarding who will qualify for the final group. We will be reaching out to several community members to see their predictions for who the group of death will end up with.
The Army World Cup format consists of two main groups, each with four armies. These four armies battle eachother seperately and earn points on each battle won or tied, if an army loses, they get zero points. The top two armies of each group by the end of the group stage phase advance to the Group of Death, where the four armies that advance follow the same format of the first phase, only this time there will be one winner to be crowned champion.
Group A sees the Void Troops, Shadow Legionnaires, Crimson Sovereign, and the Fire Vikings, all decent armies with great battling backgrounds. Group B contains all of Teutons, Romans, Scarlet Republic, and Shreks, as we can see there are a lot of contenders to advance in this group and favorites to win this tournament. It might be difficult to predict exactly the scores and rankings of each group, though we will only ask the community who will advance to the next stage.
Community Predictions
Alu, Teutons: I believe that Void Troops, Teutons, Shadow Legionaries and Scarlet Republic will make the final four of this tournament, all of them are very heavy hitters in the S/M scene and could easily go toe to toe with each other, the respective leaderships in these armies are also far more experienced than the others and I think that’ll give them the edge needed to see out big results in the matchups
Znation, Romans: Romans, Void Troops, Teutons, and Shadow Legionnaires.
TD999, Community Member: VT and SL are the strongest in their brackets, SR and Romans in the other one I’d say. Teutons are new so who knows.
Thunder, Shadow Legionnaires: To be fair for group A its VT and SL, Crimsons and Fire VIkings aren’t ready for the big stages yet compared to armies who are in group B Group B will be Teutons, Scarlet Republic and Romans coming in 3rd, Romans have lost a bit of their form after Christmas Chaos S/M final.
So my top 4 are Void Troops, Teutons, Shadow Legionnaires, Scarlet Republic. Armies will have to be aware of Void Troops and Teutons really
Fun X Time, Star Force: In the first group, I feel that the Void Troops would end up being triumphant as they have a more experienced leadership, more longevity, a large penguin base, and plenty of training. The other army bagging the win from this group could possibly be the Shadow Legionnaries since they have shown more progression and consistency compared to the other armies.
On the other hand, I believe that the second group would witness a Scarlet Republic victory as they have experienced members, and their progress has accelerated significantly compared to the other armies. I speculate the other army winning from this group to be the Teutons as, although they might be too new, they have the courage to show up to a tournament right after their opening. Moreover, their entire penguin base is basically veterans from the army community.
Deniz, Tsunamis: Eliminate romans and shreks from group b. Teutons and SR is easily passing. Romans is dying, plus Shreks max 5 really hard. And group a is kinda hard but CS is elimanated as they max 6 or less. FV is elimanated for not having over 10 troops like SL and VT. SL, VT, Teutons, SR pass to the final group
Pranav, Dark Warriors: VT / SL go through (VT beats SL, CS, FV).
Teutons / Romans go through — Teutons beats all others, Romans beat SR and Shreks where Romans vs SR will either result in a 2-1-1 OT victory for Romans or a 2-1-0 victory for Romans
Kyle, Void Troops: Teutons, VT, Romans, SL
SR haven’t done well other than their recent anniversary and war could’ve burned them out so I can’t see them doing well, same situation for CS. Romans are doing decently under z and could have a strong chance of progressing. Teutons, well, new army boost, experienced leaders and staff and all that. VT just above the likes of cs shreks sr and those folks. SL under thunder have done well and remained stable in the community so I would be surprised if one of those four didn’t get through.
We can see a pattern of names being mentioned to advance, most importantly, Void Troops and Teutons. These two armies have high expectations on them, as they are clear favourites to win this tournament. Other armies, such as the Shadow Legionnaires, Scarlet Republic, and Romans, will be heavy contenders in the Group of Death and will certainly make winning this tournament much more difficult.
