Bringing Home Gold: Water Vikings and Army of Club Penguin Host Olympics

After a week of fierce competition between Water Vikings and the Army of Club Penguin, the Ragnarök Olympics finally draws to a close. Both armies tried their hardest, demonstrating prowess in only the most competitive games on Club Penguin, as well as… Google’s Dinosaur game? We will be looking at what these Olympics were, as well as why they took place, alongside what it took to plan them.

On November 9, 2025, an announcement was posted to the Water Vikings Discord server detailing the Ragnarök Olympics that would take place between themselves and the Army of Club Penguin. For a week, there would be shared events between the two armies, alongside daily minigame challenges and, at the end of the Olympics, a final battle on Club Penguin Army Battleground hosted between WV and ACP.

Ragnarök Olympics Announcement

Throughout the week, activity in both servers was high, as the fires of competition sent every troop into a frenzy. It didn’t seem to matter which minigame they were playing: from Hydro Hopper to Bean Counters, even a Skribbl competition and Igloo design contest – people were determined to win. For a community built around the same gameplay loop of wars and tournaments in the specific army style, these Olympics felt like a breath of fresh air.

Club Penguin Army League reached out to Water Vikings Leader Escot to ask some questions about the planning and success of these Olympics.

Whose idea was it to host these Olympics, and how well do you think it went overall?

Escot: It was originally proposed by Cobra for us to mutually benefit from each other, more activity, and for us to get closer with each other. Overall I believe it went smoothly and it was as fun as we thought it would be.

What would you say was the most loved event by staff and troops, and why?

Escot: The most loved event by staff and troops would prob be the igloo or prob the final battle we did on Saturday with ACP. I think slightly more on the igloo contest tbf because there’s many submissions we’ve had. The igloos look pretty cool and tuff as well

What do you think (if anything) could have been improved for these Olympics?

Escot: Prob the timings of some of our events because some of them weren’t times that either or army didn’t usually do on specific days or prob scheduling

With the success of these olympics, do you believe WV will hold similar events in the future with its allies? And, if so, what could we expect to see?

Escot: Yes I believe so, doing events with allies is always fun which can also benefit our relations. Expect to see some bigger events than the Olympics in the future that’ll probably be more fun with some more twists.

How much planning went into hosting these olympics from both sides?

Escot: A lot, we communicated with each other often going through the event planning and submissions and such

What advice do you have to any army who wants to hold a big event similar to what WV did?

Escot: What I would say is plan carefully and communicate with your team so it goes smoothly. Make sure it aligns with the army’s overall schedule and something your accustomed to

The results truly speak for themselves. No matter the outcome of these Olympics, once the final points are tallied, the levels of activity within both servers has been at an all time high. Furthermore, hosting such events between allies is a guaranteed way to ensure closer, more integrated relations between two armies. We will all look forward to what Water Vikings and the Army of Club Penguin have planned for the future to break up the monotony of the repetitiveness of armies. Do you think the Olympics was a good idea? What events would you like to see in future Olympics? Should Stevos be investigated for performance enhancers on Skribbl? Will more armies host large-scale events similar to this? Let us know your thoughts in our Discord server!
