Back to the Shadows: Legionnaire’s Announce Hiatus

On September 30, the Shadow Legionnaires, a formidable Small/Medium army stepped away from the community. Today we reflect upon the history of the Legionnaires and the events leading to their closure.

Shadows Revealed

On May 3, the community witnessed the birth of a new army. This army is none other than the infamous Shadow Legionnaires. Founded by army veteran Thunder222, a former member of the Water Vikings. The army had a successful beginning, maxing 11 at their opening event, registering with Club Penguin Armies the same day.

During their four months of activity, SL engaged in a war versus the Void Troops, which despite losing, showcased their fighting spirit. In a move to strengthen their ranks, Thunder brought Lemon on board as his co-leader earlier this month.

Return to the Abyss

On September 30, Thunder announced in a post that he would be stepping away from SL leadership, with the army going on a temporary hiatus. This comes after controversy regarding the army’s involvement in the conflict between The White Order and the Rebel Penguin Federation. As a result of inappropriate tactics, several army leaders, including Thunder, were banned from Club Penguin Army Battleground.

Thunder announces the Shadow Legionnares hiatus

To find out more about the army’s hiatus, Club Penguin Army League reached out to Thunder for an exclusive interview.

I. You appear to be going on hiatus following a ban from CPAB – is that the sole reason?

Yeah, a lot of it is from the post itself, I mention that we mostly gone to making server looks and benefits instead of making people actually go to our events and make them interested into them. Second reason being school has been getting up to me too, sure, SL did host events 2 events but I decided to play it safe instead of CPAB thinking to extending my ban

II. Regarding your time as SL leader, are you pleased with your accomplishments?

yeah i am, especially the AUSIA which i’m surprised for

III. Do you have any closing comments for the community, or for the Legionnaires?

Soon, the legion shall be feared more

Evidently, SL’s hiatus will have a lasting impact on the community, with one of the most prevalent SM armies closing, who knows what could happen next. But what do you think? How will the Legionnaires’ hiatus further affect the community? What do you think of the army’s accomplishments so far?
