Templars Celebrate 8th Anniversary
On April 4, the Templars celebrate their 8th anniversary, marking nearly a decade of legacy within the Club Penguin Armies community. This milestone not only highlights their longevity but also reinforces their reputation as a resilient and dedicated force as they move forward into their ninth year. Let’s take a look at the history of the Templars.

History of Templars
Founded on April 4, 2018, by Xing, the Templars emerged as a disciplined force within the community, bringing together experienced players and quickly entering the competitive scene. The army saw early success with a victory over the Elite Guardians and strengthened its ranks through key mergers, including the addition of the Rebel Penguin Marines. Despite early internal setbacks, the Templars stabilized and entered their first “Golden Age” in mid-2018, marked by rapid growth, structured leadership, and rising influence.
During this early peak, the Templars played a role in major conflicts such as World War VII, contributing through defensive strategy and diplomacy while helping form alliances that shifted the balance of power. Although they faced stronger opponents and periods of instability, their ability to rebuild and maintain unity became a defining trait. The army continued to evolve through multiple revivals across platforms like Club Penguin Rewritten, adapting to changing environments while maintaining steady activity and participation in leagues and wars.

The Templars became a major staple in the community, particularly in 2021 and 2022—an era defined by dominance and significant influence over political warfare. During this time, Xing earned Person of the Year twice consecutively, solidifying his importance to the army’s success. Their Top Ten streak in 2022 stands as a historic achievement, holding the #1 position for nearly the entire year before being overtaken in its final week by the Army of Club Penguin.
Several major wars further defined the Templars’ legacy. Their rivalry with the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) led to one of the most impactful conflicts of the era, ultimately resulting in TCP’s removal from the Club Penguin Armies organization—an outcome that sent shockwaves throughout the community. Other notable conflicts include their war against the Silver Empire in November 2021, multiple wars against the Water Vikings (with the most recent large-scale clash occurring in early 2024), and their more recent engagements with Void Troops in 2025.

A Milestone of Eight Years
Now marking eight years of legacy, the Templars continue to demonstrate their strength and relevance through recent achievements. Despite a hard-fought loss to the Army of Club Penguin in March Madness XI, they secured an impressive 3rd-place finish by defeating the Water Vikings. Strengthening their position further, the army has built alliances with the Fire Vikings and the Abyssal Tides, reflecting their continued influence. This momentum was clearly showcased during their 8th anniversary event, where they reached a notable max of 75, reinforcing their status as a resilient and competitive force within the modern era.

Club Penguin Army League reached out to Templar leader Borapenguins about their anniversary and the future of the army.
How has the community changed from when it first started?
Bora: I can’t speak for all 8 years of Templar history, but the Templar community at least troop-wise tends to consistently mirror the leadership of its time. Above all, 2018 was just a much different time period than modern day CPA
How would you like the Templars to be remembered in history?
Bora: Probably as one of the greatest armies of all time… I hope to win many battles, wars, and tournaments in my time here on top of the achievements this army already has throughout the years. I just hope the years of uncertainty are over and we can get back to being unmatched in terms of greatness.
Are there any exciting plans or changes we should look forward to?
Bora: Sidie9 is Empress. We plan to win everything this year.
Templars’ 8-year journey reflects their resilience, unity, and lasting impact on the community. As they move forward, their legacy continues to grow. How far will they go next? Will Templars remain active till their ninth anniversary?
