Happy New Year, CPA! ─ Despite the challenging climate at the start of the Club Penguin Army League, we are pleased to announce our plans for the beginning of 2026. The most important time of the year, a month that can either kickstart a year full of drought or success, that we are thrilled to share a lot of projects on.

New Year Gathering Event
This new community-wide event that takes place on Sunday, January 4th, is set to mark a great gathering between 10+ armies. It is set to celebrate the community’s entrance to the year 2026, a year that many look forward to and that the community fought hard to witness through years of struggle. It is, without a doubt, an event that will be spectacular to watch.
It will witness several activities that will take place, such as a free-for-all battle in Room 1. The rest of the event will see all armies gathered as one army, performing exceptional tactics and formations, as well as honoring each and every participating army in various ways. More information about the event will be found in this post!

January Tournament / Future Unification
January is a month where tournaments are very creative, as it is something we plan on being very innovative about. Despite the postponement of the Project: Frontlines tournament, CPAL has had great developments into a new tournament project that will be announced very soon. A new creative tournament with a unique format that we have had great feedback from the leaders thus far. The tournament will feature a group-stage format similar to the Around The World Cup tournament, though instead of a knockout phase right after, the top two winners of each group go to the final group of death. The army with the most points in the final group will be crowned the champions!
CPAL and Small Medium Army League are currently in discussions to co-host this tournament, as part of our continuing talks on a potential future unification proposal. Throughout the last months, we have had significant developments as we both work towards various projects, such as the recently released World Map, which has been a great success thus far. The number one objective is to create a stable foundation that can assess armies in their day-to-day operations and hold organized events and tournaments that will bring more excitement to the community.
Continuous Work In All Sectors
Media Departement
The media department is something that we focus on tremendously and take very seriously to ensure proper coverage. While news is a priority, we also focused on the quality of columns and editorials. The number of posts we get out for monthly milestones is the least of our priorities, as recent editorials properly digest important topics in our community rather than satire posts, such as the ‘A Look Ahead’ column and community death posts.
Despite the lack of reporters, the league is continuing to release up-to-date media coverage on important events. Nonetheless, CPAL could work significantly better than anything before with support, most importantly, from reporters. This month, we plan on releasing several intriguing editorials and column posts, such as a soon-to-be-released editorial showing the differences between past and present battles with the help of CPAJ for proper judging.
As we approach the end of January, the tournament we are planning will already be taking place, as we plan to cover a lot of what happens during it. This goes from daily battle reports to post-battle leader interviews, predictions, group updates, quality graphics, and much more!
Top Tens
We heard the feedback loud and clear, and our focus on improving the Top Tens has increased significantly. More work has been put into each weekly or monthly Top Ten produced, giving decent analysis and statistics on the rankings and placements of each army. This goes from total events, battle counts, CPAB event counts, CPJ event counts, timezone event counts, best stat of the week/month, and upward or downward trends from last week/month.

Besides improving the quality and design of the rankings and statistics, we have been more firm on including all armies that bypass the 5+ penguins criteria in their revivals. You might wonder why some armies are not present while they are present in a different Top Ten, and it is important to let the community know that armies that do not max above 5 in their revivals are not counted in the Top Tens for CPAL.
Nonetheless, CPJ events max counting is present, though it is also important to know that CPAL does not hold the same CPPS event policies, and that rogues that are in uniform or have done a tactic at any point are included in the final tally. CPPS max exaggeration is also prohibited, as we make sure to count the max that accurately represents the size.
These are all things we take into account in each and every Top Ten we release, for more quality and accurate rankings and statistics. We will continue to improve the Top Tens each week, with on-time publishing, and most importantly, with legitimate and correct calculations and rankings.
Youtube Departement
The recently introduced department, the YouTube team, has made significant strides to improve its quality in videos and coverage. So far, we have accumulated a total of 110+ views in the five videos we have released! With upcoming big events such as the Christmas Chaos major and S/M finals, the New Year Gathering, and the long-awaited CPAL tournament in late January, best assured that the YouTube team will work tirelessly to release quality and rapid videos that cover these amazing and phenomenal events.
Community Engagement
Although there haven’t been many updates towards the community engagement department, this team will help facilitate the great community event CPAL is hosting for the New Year. With Yellow Typer as the CE head, we will work and discuss several further activities to be hosted as we enter 2026. Community engagement is a sector we heavily focus on, and with this department, we will make sure that many engaging activities will take place with the help of various individuals!
Stability and Security
January is a month we strive for a foundation that puts armies as the first and foremost objective for community improvement. This has been the number one goal since the revival of Club Penguin Army League, and that is something we carry towards the year 2026 stronger, better, and more focused on than ever before.
For this level of stability to be ensured, we ask all armies to support our league in any way possible, whether through registering, applying for department roles, or sharing ideas and suggestions. Your trust in the league helps us progress in a way that not only helps us develop into a more stable league but also further translates that support into bigger benefits for the community through the work and dedication we provide.

As long as we remain trusted as a league and a foundation for armies, we will continue to grow and improve in various ways that will make 2026 truly the return of a great community that we all used to love and cherish. We will continue to work tirelessly with leaders and various trusted community members to ensure all the above for January, with more to come! And, lastly again, we wish all the community in or out a happy New Year!
