Following a week of drama and controversy, the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin has been left isolated from the community. We will be looking at and evaluating both sides of this conflict, as well as how the Elite Guardians will be moving forward from it.

On November 16, Thunder222 posted an announcement in the Shadow Legionaries discord detailing that the army is terminating its alliance with, and declaring an enemy of, the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin. He claims that EGCP leadership abused their power over staff, stealing credit for their work as well as lying, manipulating and blaming victims. Later, Thunder goes on to say that he still has loyalty towards EGCP and is solely opposed to their current leadership, condemning their response to the drama, and welcoming all ex-EGCP “refugees” into SL.

In response to the first announcement, as well as internal drama caused by staff and troops leaving due to this situation, EGCP leaders released this post on November 17 addressing each accusation within Thunder’s announcement. The post explains that every leadership decision was made after being discussed by every leader, adding that having such a leader group chat is commonplace within the community in order to discuss matters pertaining to the leaders. It also shares screenshots, demonstrated that the alleged staff member who had their ideas stolen presented these in a group chat for the leaders – although it is unclear as to whether they were later credited for these ideas within the server as a whole, as no screenshots are provided showing this. As for the unprofessionalism of advisors, it is said that this was a previously resolved situation, wherein the advisor apologized for their actions, with this apology being accepted. This, too, was what was stated for the point against EGCP leaders “manipulating and victim blaming”. It would appear from reading the post that there have been miscommunications in the army between leadership and staff, something EGCP leader Lana later disclosed to us.
The post ends by criticizing the two former staff members, who allegedly messaged both troops and allies in an attempt to expose how they had been done wrong by EGCP (Lana clarified that the issues the staff members had were being discussed between themselves and leadership at the time), and teasing a second post that would address these two members of staff specifically.

A couple days later, on November 19, a follow up post was released by EGCP advisory SavageCobra and Cookky2. The post begins by stating how surprised they are by the controversy, having had believed every matter to be previously resolved, and attributing the current drama to “a series of misunderstandings”. The post first argues that the two staff members acted maliciously, attempting to slander and create a public scandal with “false accusations” before re-addressing the point made of leadership abusing their power, by stating that both members were made aware of their coming promotions to Leader in Training and Third in Command respectively. The staff members are then attacked for their effort to allegedly sow further division within the army through creating a splinter army, the Arcane Legion of Club Penguin (led by Kaka and Magma for 2 days, before shutting down), and attempting to troopsteal from EGCP into ALCP. The post provides further screenshot evidence against the two members of staff, alleging they attempted to troopsteal from other armies, disrespected members of EGCP and were already infamous within the Club Penguin Armies Discord server.
The post ends by addressing the reader, asking them to “help spread the truth and facts”, before addressing the two members of staff directly, calling their reactions disproportionate and stating that EGCP is still open to communication with them both.

Club Penguin Army League reached out to Lana to understand better what led to this controversy, as well as how EGCP plans to move forward following it.
What (if anything) do you believe was the largest factor behind this drama, from either side?
Lana: I think it’s due to a lack of communication between both parties
What will be done in the future to mitigate/prevent a situation like this from happening in the future?
Lana: We are always available to talk about various subjects. So we hope that with the staff reforms we can establish a better connection and security! So that everyone can communicate in the best possible way
In terms of diplomacy between other armies, has this had a large impact on EGCP? If so, in what way?
Lana: yeah I think so. Because part of the story was manipulated to turn our allies against EGCP, but fortunately the vast majority of them are on our side.
And what will EGCP do to try and improve its relation with these armies turned against them?
Lana: There’s a Brazilian saying that suggests some situations require patience and that time can bring solutions or clarity. So we’ll let them process everything that happened and try to talk when we feel things might be improving, without forcing anything. “Dar tempo ao tempo”
Focusing specifically on Shadow Legionaries, do you believe relations can be improved between the two armies, or (if not) how will EGCP be moving forward with them?
Lana: Honestly we were quite saddened by how things turned out in SL x EGCP. We hold no grudges against them and hope that in the future the leadership of both armies can have mature conversations. After all, they were our closest allies and we always valued that. Even though they declared us enemies, we remain neutral and willing to talk to them whenever they feel ready ❤️
These have been amazing answers, thanks so much! Do you have any closing remarks?
Lana: Only time will tell what path lies ahead for all those affected by this whole problem. Furthermore, everyone is welcome to return to EGCP if they wish. They know they will always be welcome ^^
Club Penguin Army League also reached out to Thunder to better understand his motivations and what issues he has with EGCP leadership.
What was the motivation behind posting the announcement, and what did you want achieved from it?
Thunder: it wasent an achivement, i still like EGCP with all of the friends i made there after i left DV and really opened my eyes, it was an army that i actually felt cooperating with others alike Lass
I already noticed something really sketchy when Kedi Wain got demoted twice and then left and Reyzel got removed and it wasent a form of deja-vu which later they rejoined as a final promise to them
The EGCP leaders made response posts to your announcement addressing the points you made, do you feel this was an adequate response by them and why/why not?
Thunder: by the screenshots alone a lot of it is censored and they try to cover up everything that happened with their power within the leadership. Kedi had a fight with Lana in CPA.org chat few days ago and it showed that there was indeed something wrong and people suspected this as a cover up
They focus on the blame on Lass who is, take note of this, THE ONLY ONE WHO IS ACTUALLY MAKING EGCP COOPERATIVE IN DOING EVENTS we have a butt load of screenshots in group chats and private messages that it can be a single post by it self
what r*****ed it is that they told me to focus on my own army (SL) meanwhile they f***ing don’t. this wasent the EGCP I remembered
Following my conversation with EGCP leadership, communication was noted as a large factor behind this conflict. Do you agree with this notion and, if so, believe that better communication between all parties could have avoided any drama?
Thunder: My feud with Lana and Kazoo happened all in the alliance GC ( The Retribution Alliance) and not to mention Kazoo was probably drunk, literally as i heard from my parties. and I was not deceived by them, said i shouldn’t be affiliated with this and they labeled me a traitor already.
like really? im labeled as the traitor because i got curious of my friends being harrased by a fucking pr******te and a drunker?now they have a grudge over me liking them?
EGCP will have the same slow death that The Bastille Vanguard, because they stole someones progress and do nothing about it after, reyzel wanted EGCP to actually succeed with Lass alongside but then they kicked him out and making a conspiracy he wanted to coup them. if youre not hosting events for EGCP, recruit or guide, why bother being a leader? 2IC and somewhat the modline became a joke now. Lass was never the problem. AND IF THEY CONTINUE THIS THEY WILL NOT ACHIVE ANYTHING
What, in your opinion, would be the best way for EGCP to resolve the situation?
Thunder: reflect.
How will you proceed now, following the two EGCP posts, with you stating that you believe they are still trying to cover things up?
Thunder: there was a follow up?
Yes?
Thunder: f*** let me see that
[Thunder paused for some time to read the post, after I provided the link to it.]
Thunder: the main reason reyzel did those things is because he (Cobra) wasn’t recognized by his actions AND the leadership was taking his action if they did recruit too. also them mentioning reyzel/cyber’s ban evasion from 2023-2024 doesent really matter, he still did his part of recruiting
So your argument remains unchanged?
Thunder: yup. also why tf is cobra managing this? cobra if youre reading this focus on WV.
I see. Do you have any closing remarks?
Thunder: Kazoo is like Lenin and Lana is Joseph Stalin
As EGCP consolidates itself and looks towards the future, learning from the mistakes they made and using these to improve, it seems as though others still believe this situation remains unresolved. We cannot be certain as to how this situation will develop further, whether we will see it become and everything bagel or remain a nothingburger. In such a hostile time within the army community, especially with S/M wars already ongoing, it is possible this evolves into a full-blown war. We can only hope this is resolved swiftly and professionally. Who do you think is in the right? Is the EGCP drama resolved, or are there still issues left unaddressed? Can someone please explain what Thunder is saying? What’s the best fix for a migraine? Let us know your thoughts in our Discord server!
