On October 1, the historic Water Troops announced its revival following a four-year hiatus after their most recent shutdown. This comes as a surprise to the entire community, many of whom can barely remember what the army itself even is – let alone witnessed it in its prime. In this article, we will be examining the history of Water Troops and looking at what the future could possibly hold for them.
Water Troops was originally formed in 2009 by Keano73, and has had thirteen generations to date – not including their most recent reopening. They are most remembered for their merging into Water Vikings alongside the Masked Vikings. Their most recent generation, opened in October 2020, was short lived with the army being officially shut down in December of the same year. Many in the community believed this was the end of the Water Troops, until a surprising announcement came on the morning of October 1.
After days of foreshadowing, alongside many on the edge of their seats in anticipation, Raven officially announced the revival of Water Troops, led by himself as well as Mistymoonlake, hydro21 and Revan. Club Penguin Army League reached out to Raven on this monumental revival for an interview.
We’ve seen you alluding to reviving other armies, so why revive such a historic army as WT?
Raven: Well WT was a suggestion of my friend bryce, i was discussing the possibility of me making an army in a server and we agreed on WT
Do you have any plans for WT? And what do you think the future growth will look like for the army?
Raven: Honestly, Its mostly for fun and creating a server that is out of the current cpa culture. I can see us being a strong S/M tho
Do you think your current revival will be able to live up to the legacy of WT? And if so, how?
Raven: I have no idea about the legacy of WT but i can act at least as r*tarded as games does sometimes so probably

A new era for Water Troops and possibly a new dawn for Armies as a whole. We will all be watching the current generation of WT as they continue to grow into the shoes of such an influential army.
