What is Power Rankings?

Power Rankings is a method of measuring an army’s strength in battle, warfare, and competitiveness in the community. Just as we typically measure an army’s maxes and sizes through the Top Tens, we will measure an army’s strength and dominance on the battlefield through the Power Rankings.

Throughout the years, the Club Penguin Armies community has relied on outdated measures to judge an army’s strength. Around the time when size was considered the main basis of attribution, the Top Tens was created as the only criterion system of power in our community. While size remains important, the community as a whole has shifted from the idea of maxes as a main motive, and considered many other aspects in our modern standards.

While it might not be a 1:1 ratio towards an army’s real strength, the Power Rankings will serve as a portrayal and showcase of warfare and battle brilliance in the community.

How Will Power Rankings Be Measured?

As of October 5, 2025, this will be the current formula to compete for #1 in these rankings. We choose to be as transparent as possible in showcasing the formula to this new system to the community, so suggestions and ideas are shared and discussed, as they will be considered to further arrange and finalize the Power Rankings as a trusted and reliable method of estimating an army’s warfare triumphs in the community.

Winning Practice Battle: 3 points
Winning off-map war battle: 3 points
Winning by invading/defending army (direct map invasion): 5 points
Winning map war invasion/defense: 10 points
Winning Tournament Battle: 20 points

Losing Practice Battle: 3 points
Losing off-map war battle: 3 points
Losing by invading/defending army (direct map invasion): 5 points
Losing map war invasion/defense: 10 points
Losing Tournament Battle: 10 points

Disclaimer: The present CPA League Leader Council has already voted on splitting Small & Medium statuses between armies for better adjustments. Small: 1-10, Medium: 11-19, Major: 20+. Of course, to achieve or drop to any status, one must be within the threshold for 3 consecutive weeks.

CPA League will measure all armies’ present status based on the average size points of the last 3 weeks, not counting this one.

With all this in place, the Power Rankings will officially be implemented this week, September 28th – October 4th.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

• A battle to be counted in the Power Rankings will have to be officially judged by the CPA Judges.
• The usual Top Tens will remain and will not be replaced.
• The Power Rankings will be reset every 3 months to avoid redundancy or potential imbalance in the rankings.
• The current season will end on Sunday, January 5, 2026, at 12 am EST.
• There will potentially be a trophy for the army that will be the #1 army when the deadline hits.
• The Power Rankings will be updated every Sunday.
• Once it becomes a reliable concept within the community, the Power Rankings will be updated daily in our website, while only pinging every Sunday of course.
• There will be no Power Rankings of The Month as the points are progressive and do not get reset until 3 months pass.
• Measures will be taken against armies that use proxies or overuse allies to lose on purpose to avoid unfair advantages.
