Army World Cup: Second Round Recap + Leaders Post-Battle Interviews

Crossing the midway gap of the group stage battles, we notice a lot of interesting battles taking place. We have seen a slight shuffle in Group B, with some similarities remaining in Group A. Let us recap what has happened in the second round and reach out to leaders for a post-battle interview.

Day Three

Round two started with the Shadow Legionnaires battling the Crimson Sovereign. This battle was cut short due to the Crimsons not being able to show up. This gave the Legionnaires the boost they needed for their last battle in the group stages, standing comfortably with 6 points.

The Void Troops also faced the Fire Vikings in their second battle of the week. In a similar fashion, the Vikings hold their fire as they could not show up to the battle, giving their opponent a clean win. The Void Troops end up tied at first place in their group with the Shadow Legionnaires, with their last battle in the third round being the tiebreaker.

Club Penguin Army League reached out to both VT leader Kira, and SL leader Thunder for their progress in the tournament thus far.

With Void Troops jumping into this tournament with shaky performance, can we expect a much more adapted VT in the death group next week?

Kira, VT leader: Part of our kinda (to be genuine) ass performance if im being frank has been us coming off of a hiatus caused by a multitude of factors. I do this this tournament has been a good way of getting our team up running and active again however because we need to find our new groove in spite of everything that has gone on.

In regards to the next bracket, i cant say for sure. im truly hoping that with this expanded hcom team, and with more organization, even with albeit not the best times we will be able to succeed. nothing is set in stone and i know vt will continue to rebuild despite the circumstances and despite what anyone else has to say regarding the army.

With your hardest battle so far being against Void Troops in the next battle, how do you plan to advance with a clean win sheet?

Thunder, SL leader: Parking the bus and spamming our troops to actually get on.

If you advance to the finals group after your last battle of the group stages, how do you expect the next and final week to go?

Kira, VT leader: Next week if we make it to the finals would be one of a genuine lock-in. since our opening we have won many wars but have not won any tournaments. a trophy would be a major accomplishment to us especially with everything, so despite our shaky performance we will do our best to lock in. cant really expect to see anything until it happens so we’ll see soon.

Thunder, SL leader: It will be intense with our schedule and it being winter.

Day Four

Group B remains a group with a lot of action taking place, as the Romans faced the Scarlet Republic in a heated battle. Both armies performed well, though with the Romans’ size advantage and exceptional performance, they were able to grab a battle sweep to move them up the rankings to first place.

Quickly after, the Teutons and Shreks were set to face each other. However, the Shreks were unfit to show up as their leader Viv, notified early on their inability to battle due to the tight schedule. The Teutons were able to grab 3 points that let them continue to be a competing army for a spot in the group of death.

CPAL reached out to all of Znation and Justin, Roman, and Teuton’s leaders, respectively, for an interview regarding their second battle;

Romans have so far been the underdogs of the Army World Cup, will we expect this performance to carry on for the rest of the tournament?

Znation, Romans leader: Romans has been dedicating a lot of time in this tourney and we see potential in winning this tournament so we have decided to put all our focus, energy and work dedicated to this tournament in hopes to win as this will be a major win amongst the other armies and pave our way to becoming major and working hard. I see the vision of romans as a war army and i want that vision to come true so this win will solidify us amongst others.

With Teutons still in risk of being knocked out, will we see a much more different Teutons in your final battle this week compared to the other group stage battles?

Justin, Teutons leader: You can expect a more disciplined and intentional Teutons. The group stage battles gave us valuable insight into what we need to tighten up, and this final battle is all about execution. We’re going into it much sharper, much clearer, and much more focused on execution. When you’re fighting for elimination, everything is on the line, and we’re treating this battle exactly how it should be treated.

If you advance to the finals group after your last battle of the group stages, how do you expect the next and final week to go?

Znation, Romans leader: I expect the final week to go in favor of romans.

Justin, Teutons leader: If we come out on top, the final week will be all about momentum and adaptability. This is a point in the tournament where all armies are good armies, and it all comes down to preparation and leadership. We’re going to be all about fine tuning what we’re doing right, what we’re doing wrong, and keeping everyone positive. We’re not just going to show up to participate; we’re going to show up to compete with confidence and make our mark on the finals.

As we cross the midway gap of the group stages, these are the rankings that stand as of the release of this post.

These rankings follow suit with the first round, as Group A remains steady, while Group B sees another shuffle. Only time will tell how these rankings will hold up at the end of the week, and who will get to compete for the fine and prestigious trophy. We will keep you updated here at CPAL with how all these battles turn out! Who do you think will end up winning? Do you expect any upsets to happen next week?
